LINC Golf & Wellness was founded in 2005 based on my idea that wellness is such a big part of the game of golf. At the time, most people thought I was crazy and didn’t understand the importance of wellness and golf. Fast forward to today and you will see countless articles on all types of yoga, fitness and mindfulness around the game. As a Class A LPGA Teaching Pro, master trainer and yoga instructor I continue to fine tune all my programs around the wellness component of golf.
Golf is a game that we will never master. Much like life, every swing, every round, every day we show up different and continue to navigate change. To be a solid player not only does it take time and effort, but it takes a tremendous amount of perseverance mentally and physically. The mental side of golf, I believe is the most challenging. The amount of focus it takes during a round is somewhat daunting, I truly believe this is one reason people don’t take up the game or even play as often as they used to.
My teaching style continues to be very fundamental, not only on the lesson tee but the fitness and yoga side as well. My most successful golf program is my Mastering the Art of the Fundamentals. I created this program knowing that it suits all levels of golfers. It is the based on the static principles of golf. Meaning all the things that need to be in place prior to even swinging the golf club. Mechanics are important to a certain degree, but if you continue to try and change, tweek and “perfect” a swing that your body can not sustain, it will continue to be a challenge.
My philosophy around the physical components of golf are as follows: Accessibility, sustainability and repeatability. What this means as a player on physical level is if you can access and sustain the changes in your golf swing then more than likely you can repeat it. This is where the wellness and fitness components come into play. If I have a student that has physical challenges in their bodies I am not going to try and incorporate something that they cannot repeat. It is important, not only for me as a teacher, but for my students to understand and know how their bodies move.
All my programs consist of overall wellness. If you want to improve your game while incorporating the physical and mental aspects of then my programs are for you.
